A call to arms

Come join the rebellion! Lets change the world. Burn
your uniforms, get rid of your books and follow to this
call to arms. Leave your homes, sell all your worldly possessions and follow us. The establishment will be no longer and the rebel yell will be triumphant. This revolution will be televised and the spirit of true rebellion will be our guiding force. Don't worry about aims or those who deter you. What do they know, they who are trapped and blinded by the system. Turn your back on them and get out. Long live the revolution!

What a strange theme for a JAMS issue! Praising rebellion? Promoting anarchy? Thoughts of rebellion bring to mind pictures of armed militia gunmen running around wreaking havoc or long haired hippies smoking strange substances and claiming that they want to do rather nasty and unrepeatable (even in this daring JAMS edition) things to the system. Not exactly the profession your grandparents are expecting from their nice Jewish offspring. It doesn't even need an 'ology. In fact, it gets worse. The claim that will be made throughout this issue is that Judaism is a religion of rebellion, a people trying to change the world, and we don't just mean the world of accountancy. So read on and join us; the rebellion is underway and the world is shaking at the prospect...
